“I want to be part of the SFDWA. I have read the SFDWA mission and vision statements, and my beliefs and actions are in alignment with the goals of the organization.
I support the SFDWA goals and will work together with the SFD Women’s Alliance to: 1) advocate for the well-being and represent the interests of women in the SFD; 2) ensure an atmosphere of professionalism and community; 3) provide support, mentorship, and training to all women in the SFD; 4) recruit new women to the SFD and encourage their career advancement; 5) encourage continued engagement of all our retired members; and 6) work with other groups and organizations as a part of the Seattle community we serve.
The SFDWA Board of Directors has the authority to approve and terminate my membership if my actions do not contribute to the SFDWA’s mission: to ensure a positive, supportive environment for our community members to serve, improve their skills and abilities, and enjoy their job, throughout their careers and into retirement.
